Simple, but special

Had a little difficulty taking a picture of this layout. Had to turn the flash off and go outside, but outside it was so bright I couldn't see the image on the display.. So the end result is just a little bit crooked and cropped, but ah well :-D

This is a pretty simple layout that I made during the time we were living at my mom and dad's house. I had taken the girls out on a picnic up on the hill, and during the steep walk up there we had to stop and rest (especially me, since I was carrying Ellen). I took out my camera and got a few pictures taken. I fell in love with this one and wanted to keep the layout simple to emphasize on the photo. I thought these papers from Basic Grey went perfetly with the picture. The rugged look melts in with the ground.
I cut out the letters for the title by hand, from the same paer I cut out the flowers. With a bit of chestnut roan chalk, and a white sakura gel pen they look pretty cool (doesn't always have to be die cuts or stickers ;-)).

Finally, I am back..

Been a long time now.
I moved with my family to live with my mom and dad while we were renovating our house. I thought it would be for 2, 3 months but it took 7 whole months before we could move in. We still don't have the major bathroom or laundryroom finished though so we still do laundry and shower at our parents houses.. at least we have a kitchen and wc :-)

During the 7 months we lived with mom and dad I got about 4-5 layouts made, since all my scrap stuff was in boxes. Now I scrap by the kithcen table, since i don't have my own scrap space yet either.

The pictures of my most recent layouts are still in my camera, I haven't founf the USB cable yet, but below are two I made right before we moved that I am quite happy with. I made my own decorations on both of them.

In about a month I will be holding scrap classes 4 thursdays in a row. Looking forward to that.

Made it to the finals!

Hey there. I've been without internet for a long time, since I'm currently living at my parents house with my fiance and our daughters. We've been living here for 2½ months now while we´re renovating. Things are moving along slowly.. I'm hoping we'll be able to move in before the end of the summer.

One of the biggest things that have happened to me lately, scrap-related, is the announciation of the winners and finalists in the Swedish "Scrabooking master 2007"- competition. I am pleased to finally announce that I was one of the finalists, placing somewhere between 4-25 (unspecified). This is a huge deal for me, and getting one of my layouts puplished, and seeing my face in the Swedish magazine "Scrapbooking mm" felt amazing.

I haven't been able to scrap for the whole time we've been living here, and that's tough, especially since I'm going to hold a scrapbooking class in the end of august and want to bring some new LO's with me. Since I'm using my parents computer now I can't share any new LO's with you in this post, but I wanted to share the news anyway :-)

Scrapping with beginner papers

A quick post with a new layout.
Ellen loves ice cream.. who doesn't? ;-)
Did this after a layout sketch on Swe Scrapbook's blog. At the same time I challenged myself to use up some old papers that I bought in the beginning of my "career" as a scrapbooker. I had been completely lost about how to use them, but suddenly they fitted perfectly in this layout. I've written on the paper with clothes on a line, that there's a lot of laundry to be done. Yeah, this little one can get pretty messy when I allow her to eat by herself. That's why she´s got the plastic snoopy-thing on her.

Another day has gone by, mostly I've continued packning up our stuff. Why do we have so much?? Do we actually use everything. Yeah most of it I guess, but right now I wish I could get rid of more. It just gets too be so cluttery, and I'm running out of boxex to pack in. Hoping Håkans customers eat a lot of french fries this week at the grill, cause they come in boxes that are just swell for packing stuff in.

Two new layouts

Had some time to scrap yesterday and I felt the inspiration flowing. I love that feeling. Two new layouts in a couple of hours.
Now it will be a while again since it seems we're about to get our apartment sold and need to move out within two weeks, so I will have plenty to do.

This one is about Ellens 1st birthday. I had been wanting to use the patterned paper from Flair Designs for this occasion, and this is how it turned out. I cut out the balloons, hats and presents from the paper and used them for decorations on my layout.

This layout is long overdue. Miranda lost her front teets about 8 months ago, playing bandy with her father. They were chasing each other and Miranda held her stick in the air when they collided and the stick went in her mouth, pressing her front teeth in. I've never heard her cry so loud before or after that. Håkan carried her inside and her mouth was so filled with blood it was hard to see what had happened. I could see the panic in both of them, and for some reason though I felt like panicking myself, I stayed calm and thought rationally of what to do.
First I got her to rinse her mouth with water to wash the blood out, then I called 112 (Swedens 911) and they got hold of a dentist at the hospital. We went in and her teeth were pulled out. Luckily it was her milk teeth, so she would have lost them anyway.
I've saved the teeth, and they're going to be on the layout. When I was searching for them I realised they had been packed allready (I've been preparing the move for over a year), so they will be put there later, when I have my new scrap space ready.

No time to scrap

I could probably find the time to scrap if I made an effort. I feel like I need to make an effort now, as my daughters are growing fast and I want to scrap events right away, while I remember as much as possible. Though right now, my time and my energy are consumed with just everyday chores and everything that comes with renovating a new home, and making preparations to move. That means selling our apartment, packing up what is not absolutely neccesary to get by day-to-day, working at the house.
A lot of work ahead, but I am loving it.
Looking forward the most to when I can start seriously transforming the garden (probably not until next summer) and of course get my scrap area finished.

It has been a dream of mine for many years that we would have a house of our own and a garden for the kids to play in, as well as for me to grow things in. Finally that dream has come true and I feel like I have everything I´ve ever wanted.
I guess what is left is a wedding. We´ve been together for 8 years now, engaged for 2 ½, but still not married. Don't want to spend too much money on a wedding as we prioritize other things. We'll get there, eventually :-D

Changes

Well I haven´t written at all in a long, long time and since last there have been a few changes in my life. My last post was about my work, well... scratch all that. A couple of weeks ago I got a rejection on my application to work this summer.

A simple rejection... no "thank you for the past 4 years" or anything of the sort. So now I´m at a point where I need to figure out what to do with the rest of my life as far as career goes. I´m not going to come crawling back with another application for next season, oh no.

My children are getting bigger. Miranda 6 years and 4 months old, Ellen 14 months. How I adore them :-) Miranda is acting like a little teenager sometimes, but I guess it´s a part of the age she´s in. It can be very difficult on both her and me, but I try not to judge to hard.. She´s a smart and kind girl. She´s a terrific big sister, adored by Ellen.

We bought a house in december, but we´re still living in our apartment, since we have a lot of renovating to do before we can actually move in. Right now there isn´t even any plumbing in the house.

I thought you were supposed to start fighting with your spouse about everything that has to do with renovating a house.. Luckily, for me and Håkan, it has brought us even closer together. We tend to agree on everything when it comes to design. Other people may not always understand us, but we understand each other perfectly.

To finish my post I give you another layout, of Ellen at 11 months.
